Travel RN - Telemetry - Stepdown

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU Oncology RN for a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NE or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Oncology experience preferred, strong PCU experience also considered
• Chemo certification preferred but not required
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
• Comfortable titrating Insulin and Cardizem drips
• Experience managing common drips/medications including chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
• Familiarity with high-flow respiratory equipment
• Driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities

• PCU Oncology unit (5 North) with 18 beds caring for adult oncology and trauma PCU patients
• Patient ratios of 1:4-1:5 on both day and night shifts
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30p-7:00a with every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling that balances with unit needs
• Floats to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
• EMR: Epic, IV Pumps: Alaris
• Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms with additional lift equipment on the unit
• Two days of unit orientation provided
• Care for a diverse adult oncology and trauma PCU patient population, supporting patients from diagnosis through remission or end-of-life care
• Work alongside Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurse, PT/OT, RN Case Manager, Social Worker, Educator, and Dietitian
• Focus on hourly rounding and bedside shift report as key patient experience priorities
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the past year
