American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring at least 6 months of neuro experience and NIHSS certification.
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required at submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
- At least 6 months of neurology experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with NIH Stroke Scale and neurology diagnoses required
- Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and care for craniotomy, CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Responsibilities
- Neurology/Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic charting system
- Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring for stroke, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
- Must be willing to float to sister facilities near the contracted location
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; minimal RTO is preferred
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable for RNs
