American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of PCU experience and NIH Stroke Certification.
Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience in a hospital setting required
- Strong dysrhythmia recognition skills and critical drip experience required
- Pre-post cardiac cath and pacer patient care experience preferred
- Prior HCA experience preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Responsibilities
- PCU setting on the 2nd floor with 20 beds
- Staffed with 5 RNs and 2 LNAs per shift, flexing with patient volume
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Uses GE cardiac monitoring and Hospira IV pumps
- EMR: Expanse
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over a 13-week assignment
- Floating required to Med Surg, ICU (for border patients), and Emergency Department (for ED holds)
- Every other weekend rotation required or equivalent based on staffing needs
- Provide direct patient care within a progressive care unit setting
- Self-directed, confident, and positive candidates with strong communication skills are best suited for this team
- Professional attire required with no specific scrub color mandated
- Unit-specific guidelines and policies will be reviewed during interview and orientation
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months are permitted
