Description
American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for a cardiac-focused progressive care unit requiring 18 months of recent specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (Med Surg B mapping) within a hospital setting
- Cardiac patient population with diagnoses including CHF, congenital heart disease, LVADs, dysrhythmias, A-fib, cardiogenic shock, CAD, and chest pain
- Administers vasoactive drips such as Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone, Lasix, Bumex, Heparin, and Insulin
- Performs peritoneal dialysis and manages insulin drips
- AM shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required in hand
- Minimum 18 months of specialty experience within the past 3 years required
- Experience with peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip management required
- Must pass a proctored rhythm identification test (non multiple-choice, two attempts allowed) upon starting
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former Emory or Houston perm staff must be separated for at least 1 year before returning to the health system, or 18 months if returning to the same facility
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days when not on or near a holiday, and 3 days when falling on or near a holiday
- Only one holiday time-off request is permitted per assignment
