American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 25-bed Med Tele unit requiring KS or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent telemetry experience.
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Basic dysrhythmia (Basic Dys) knowledge required
- NIH Stroke Certification required for Tele unit
- Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry nursing experience required
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
- 25-bed Medical Telemetry unit caring primarily for renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and general med-surg patients
- Patient ratio of 4-5:1
- Unit staffed with techs and supported by charge nurses
- Equipment used includes EKG, bladder scanner, sit-to-stand lift, Hoyer lift, hover mat, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
- Charting completed in Meditech EBCD
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Scheduled for 3 shifts per week with at least every 3rd weekend required
- Floating required to like units including Ortho, Neuro, CCU, CDU, SSU, Obs, and Rehab
- Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Med Tele unit with a strong focus on safety, quality, and documentation compliance related to central lines, foleys, and C. diff/HAI prevention
- Participate in Nurse Leader Rounds including pre-rounds to confirm patient preferences and post-rounds for coaching and recognition
- Hospital holds Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Colorectal Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Orthopedic certifications
- Facility is known for robotic surgery program, including a new urology robot unique to the region
- Required dress code: royal blue scrub tops, royal blue or black pants, and grey, white, black, or royal blue undershirt
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
