American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Telemetry with prior travel experience and 3+ years of tele/med-surg nursing background for a night shift assignment.
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), renal failure, and TURP care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
- Experience with total joint replacement and orthopedic post-surgical care
- 2 references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Responsibilities
- Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes surgical, orthopedic, SBO, urology/CBI, and diverticulitis cases
- Night shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (23:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend/holiday required
- May float to other Med Surg/Telemetry units as needed
- Uses Epic for charting
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- Provide telemetry-level nursing care across a mixed medical/surgical patient population
- Complete facility-required Pass/Fail EKG and medication competency tests during orientation, with limited attempts to pass
- Complete pre-start and orientation modules as assigned by the facility
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- First-time travelers are not considered due to the travel experience requirement
