American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring TX or compact RN license and cardiac telemetry background.
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ACLS certification (AHA) required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Cardiac telemetry nursing experience required
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- US Social Security Number and US home address required for consideration
Responsibilities
- 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit
- Cares for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, and syncope
- Supports patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic/interventional heart catheterization
- Handles specialized cardiac procedures including Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
- Unit overflows to general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed
- Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
- 13-week assignment length
- First to float to Med/Surg if needed
- Deliver acute cardiac telemetry nursing care with a focus on stabilizing unit staffing
- Opportunity to precept and mentor newly hired RNs, including RN Residents, as the unit rebuilds its core staff
- Candidates should demonstrate strong engagement and willingness to train others
- Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
- Only one submission permitted per candidate across all Ascension positions system-wide
- Travelers should discuss extension opportunities with their manager at least 45 days before assignment end date
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required as of July 1, 2023
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
