Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Burn ICU position requiring BSN and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications at a Magnet facility.

Details

• Work in the Burn ICU (BICU) of a Magnet-designated hospital
• Care for both adult and pediatric burn patients with diabetes, cardiac issues, psych concerns, and complex wounds
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to competent units required during low census periods
• Epic charting system used; experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
• BSN required for consideration due to Magnet status
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required in hand; TNCC preferred
• Experience with vasopressor medications, sedation, and ventilator management required
• Experience with arterial lines and wound care required
• Skills in IV therapy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration required
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning required
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction required
• Burn experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to burn patients in a surgical intensive care setting
• Support infection prevention protocols including isolation precautions and PPE use
• Prior Akron Children's Hospital employees may be considered for travel assignments if not currently active employees
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Facility maintains a strict do-not-call policy
