Travel RN - Pediatric ICU - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVPICU experience and NE or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NE or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• CCRN certification preferred
• 2 years of CVPICU experience required
• Cardiac ICU and pediatric ICU experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETCO2 monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and airway management
• Skilled in IV therapy including arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and administration of blood products
• Skilled in administration of antiarrhythmics, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• ECMO and PAP line insertion/management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a hospital setting
• 32-bed unit with an average daily census of 21
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Patient population includes post-op open hearts, single ventricles, complex cardiac anatomy/physiology, heart transplant, and heart failure cases
• Involves invasive cardiac monitoring including CVP, ART, and RA lines
• Requires exposure to or experience with ECMO and CRRT
• Utilizes vasopressors, cardiac gtts, and sedation gtts
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients following complex cardiac surgery
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for travel positions
• Must reside outside a 100 mile radius from the facility to be considered
