Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room (OR) Circulator RN to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role involves coordinating intraoperative care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring patient safety across the surgical continuum.
Job Details
- Shift: Day Shift (varies by assignment)
- Call: Required (shared rotation)
- Floating: May float to PACU, outpatient endoscopy, or central services as needed
- Patient Population: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Circulating Nurse in the OR (may also scrub or float as needed)
- Coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical team
- Ensure compliance with time-out procedures and patient safety protocols
- Maintain sterile environment and infection control standards
- Monitor patient condition throughout surgical procedures
- Provide emotional and physical support to patients and families
- Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active California RN License
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (required prior to patient care; maintained every 2 years)
- ACLS (within 6 months of hire; maintained every 2 years)
- PALS (within 6 months for perioperative roles; maintained every 2 years)
- Preferred Certifications: CNOR, PANAC, AAOPU
- Strong OR circulating experience required
- Ability to work across multiple surgical specialties
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and patient transfers (up to 50 lbs)
- Exposure to blood and bodily fluids (Category 1)
- Use of clinical equipment including IV pumps, monitors, and surgical tools
- Adherence to HIPAA and all confidentiality standards

- Must comply with all vaccination requirements (medical/religious exemptions may apply)
- Participation in E-Verify required
- Must adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
