American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring KY or compact RN licensure and call coverage every other day and weekend.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required per department compliance
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- No prior CVOR experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms
- Support areas include PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, offices, and scheduling
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday,
- Call required every other day and every other weekend
- 26-week contract assignment
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, treatment, and care coordination throughout the surgical process
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination with case management
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measure initiatives
- Promote a positive, healing environment through nursing excellence and evidence-based practice
