Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring a minimum of 3 years OR experience and RN license (NE or Compact) in hand.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NE or Compact) required in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 3 years of acute care OR experience required
• Must be able to perform c-section cases
• High preference for ortho total joint experience
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within a Level 3 trauma facility
• CVOR unit with 7 operating suites, 1 cysto room, and 2 c-section rooms shared with L&D
• Average of 15-24 cases per day
• Common cases include heavy ortho total joints, GYN c-sections, urology, spine, ENT, GI, general surgery, and vascular procedures such as fem-pops, cut downs, hybrid cases with cath lab, stents, fistulas, and CABG
• No robotics or neuro cases performed
• Pediatric cases limited to tubes and tonsils with rare appendectomies
• Day shift schedule, either or 9-530, Monday through Friday
• Uses EPIC EMR
• OR techs are present on the unit; RN scrubbing not required
• Charge nurse coverage Monday-Friday with on-call house supervisors for other shifts
• CVOR call requirement of 10-11 shifts per month including every other weekend
• Call response time of 20 minutes
• No floating required
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-volume, multi-specialty CVOR unit
• Participate in a rotating call schedule, including weekend and potential holiday on-call coverage
• Facility provides scrubs
• Unit orientation includes a half day with HR followed by 3-4 days on the unit with a tech
• Must reside within a 45-mile radius of the facility
• Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
