Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry position requiring an active IA or compact license and prior tele experience.

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current NIHSS certification
• 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience required
• Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required
• Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg-Tele unit at a Level 3 Trauma Center, specializing in post-op urology, surgical, and oncology patients (prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, thyroidectomy)
• General medical/surgical floor caring for post-op patients requiring overnight stays
• Administers Heparin drips
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, with 36 or 48 hour/week options available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to other Med/Surg-Tele units across local campuses
• Uses Epic EMR
• Contribute professional and clinical expertise as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
• Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods in late November and late December
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) within the past 12 months are not eligible for travel assignments in another market
