American Traveler is hiring an RN - Med/Surg Tele for a 48-bed adult med/surg unit requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and prior neuro experience.
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- NIHSS certification required
- CPI-A certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required
- Previous neuro experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
- BSN or MSN preferred
Responsibilities
- 48-bed adult Med/Surg unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Unit averages 3-4 admissions per day
- Night shift schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am
- 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- May be placed on standby (SB1) one shift per pay period if census drops
- Remote telemetry experience highly preferred
- Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards within a hospital setting
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process while reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
- Care for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required
- Participate in discharge planning and coordinate with interdisciplinary team members
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update plans of care
- Engage in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
