Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care hospital position requiring SC or compact RN license and telemetry experience.

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Experience with telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and on-unit telemetry monitoring required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting on the MS/Tele unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:45p-7:15a)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR used, experience preferred
• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response care
• Perform respiratory care including oxygen administration and nasal cannula management
• Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Provide care for patients with renal failure and genitourinary/renal conditions
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
• Royal blue scrub color required
• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on final approval
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate; MUSC prioritizes non-local candidates
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies for local candidate consideration
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved in advance based on facility needs
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
