Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring Med/Surg and step-down experience with potential floating throughout the hospital.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or compact eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Specialty unit (3rd Floor Overflow)
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Med/Surg and step-down experience required
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
• Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as neededAdminister medications and regulate IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge instructions
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
• Strict adherence to credentialing and compliance deadlines is required, with no flexibility for start date delays
• Travelers may extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before reapplying after that
