Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required
• 2 years of overall RN experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care and feeding tube management preferred
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications preferred
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating mandatory, including to MS/Tele units and as Patient Observer (sitter) roles depending on unit
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring and rapid response/code team support
• Required to work Dec 24 and Dec 31, 2026
• 50% holiday coverage required on contract
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none allowed in the first week due to orientation
• Works in a healthcare facility operating 24/7/365, with exposure to patients who may have contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather coverage required
