American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring 2 years of recent experience and prior travel assignment experience.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and PICC line management
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and total joint replacement care
- Experience managing renal patients including pre/post hemodialysis care
- Previous charge experience preferred
Responsibilities
- MS/Tele Float role within a hospital setting
- 3x12 Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- 1:6 patient ratio
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float required within skillset and acuity level
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a diverse patient population
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
