Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring active VA or compact RN license and Epic proficiency on a post-surgical unit.

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand required
• Minimum of two years recent relevant experience
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in Epic required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with wound care, insulin protocols, tracheostomy care, and surgical drain management
• Must pass an EKG/telemetry competency test with 80% or higher, no remediation available
• Must successfully complete a fit test, as PAPR accommodations are not available
• Candidates with any license or background hits will not be considered

Responsibilities

• Work in a high-volume post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit caring for urology and GYN surgical patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Typical patient ratio of 1:7
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required within the contract
• Must work two of the three winter holidays
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide direct patient care on a post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
• Approximately 3 hours of billable modules required prior to start
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and will be reviewed on a per-case basis
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered for this RN position
• A driver's license must be provided for address verification prior to offer acceptance
