American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring at least 1 year of recent experience and BLS certification.
Requirements
- Active RN license (NM or Compact)
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- No certifications expiring within first 30 days of start
- Active driver's license required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
- General Med/Surg unit with some post-op ortho and general surgery patients
- 36-bed unit with a busy, high turnover pace including frequent discharges and admissions
- Patient ratio of 1:6, occasionally 1:7
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Occasional floating to ICU to cover step-down or Med/Surg overflow patients
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Cerner EMR and Mindray Telemetry System
- Provide general medical-surgical nursing care with occasional ICU step-down coverage
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Maximum RTO of 1 week approved
- Fingerprinting required for all NM travelers, which may extend the compliance timeline
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Previous CHS perm staff employees are not eligible if employed within the last 2 years
