American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position split between inpatient rehab and oncology units, requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience required (oncology experience not required)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line care, and PICC line care
- Experience with pain management including IV push narcotics and PCA pump management
- Wound care and colostomy/ileostomy management skills
- Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage oncologic emergencies including sepsis
- Experience with post-surgical care and symptom management
Responsibilities
- Position split between inpatient rehabilitation and inpatient oncology units as needed
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Uses Epic EMR
- Provide patient care across inpatient rehab and oncology units including medication administration, wound care, and psychosocial support
- Deliver patient and family education and support
- Recognize and manage side effects of biotherapy and chemotherapy when applicable
- Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for this travel position
- Former FirstHealth Medical Center employees must have been separated from employment for at least one year to be considered
- Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screening upon arrival in addition to standard credentialing requirements
