American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Nurse Navigator for a Med/Surg long term care position requiring prior ambulatory nurse navigation/coordination experience and a CA RN license.
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in-hand when applying (EMSA not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nurse navigation/coordination experience in an ambulatory setting required
- Med/Surg experience required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care setting required
- Epic experience required and must be reflected in work history
- Skills required include starting IVs, medication administration (IM, IV infusions, subcutaneous), and minor injections
- Experience with patient teaching, office duties, pharmacy calls/refill requests, and telephone triage required
- Two supervisor references required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Responsibilities
- Work in the Nurse Navigator unit within an ambulatory care setting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- 13-week contract assignment
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Responsibilities include coordinating patient care navigation, patient teaching, telephone triage, and handling pharmacy refill requests
- Candidates must be willing to proceed without a guaranteed manager interview
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous employees must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
- Candidates open to travel without prior travel experience will be considered if they have strong skills
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred, with no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- All time off requests must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be changed after submission
