American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Telemetry RN with a TN or compact license and MS/Tele experience for a night shift assignment.

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • AHA BLS required (ACLS preferred, AHA certification only accepted)
  • 2 years of RN experience required
  • MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
  • Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
  • Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing
  • Drug test required 12-14 days prior to start
  • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet fit testing guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Med/Surg-Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit
  • Patient ratio of 1:7
  • Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
  • 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48 schedules available
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Required to float
  • Epic charting system preferred
  • Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg-Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and wound/ostomy care as needed
  • Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
  • General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules averaging 4-5 non-billable hours
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
