Travel RN - Med/Surg - Infusion

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion/Chemo department position requiring ONS/ONCC certification and prior travel nursing experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, ACLS preferred
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in port access and management, central line care, and infusion pump management
• Experience recognizing and managing chemotherapy side effects and abnormal lab values
• Knowledge of biotherapy administration including interferons and interleukins

Responsibilities

• Work in the Infusion/Chemo department of a community hospital that is expanding its oncology infusion program
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provides IV therapy, infusions, and central line/port care
• Administers chemotherapy via IV push, continuous infusion, and oral routes
• Manages oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, and sepsis
• Cares for patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology and infusion center setting
• Deliver psychosocial support including patient/family education, symptom management, and advanced directive discussions
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
• Returning employees must have a break in service of at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
