Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float position requiring telemetry proficiency and Epic experience at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.

Details

• MS/Tele Float pool covering multiple Med/Surg units including cardiac, spine, and neuro
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30, 3x per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as applicable to operations
• Float requirement as needed across units, including neuro and oncology
• Uses Epic EMR
• Telemetry monitoring on the unit with dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg specialty
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm identification with strict passing criteria
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's top hospital
• Care responsibilities may include chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care, IV insulin protocols, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with orthopedic, cardiovascular, renal, and neurological patient populations may be required depending on unit assignment
• Must complete a cardiac interpretation review course if telemetry exam is failed twice, with a third attempt allowed before assignment cancellation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
