Travel RN - Med/Surg Float Pool

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg/Tele Float position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Primary IV skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Community hospital experience required
• Float pool and PCU/Step Down experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Responsibilities

• Float pool position covering MS/Tele units within the hospital
• Patient population includes adults with medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
• On-unit telemetry monitoring required
• Patient to nurse ratio of 1:6, flexing up to 1:7 as needed
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• Self scheduling and blocked scheduling available
• Cerner EMR used
• No radius restriction for this position
• Float to other MS/Tele units within the hospital as needed
• Respiratory therapy covers specialty IV lines while RN manages primary IV care
• Black scrubs required
• No RTO preferred for any holidays, though one holiday may be considered
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 1 year before reapplying
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this float position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
