American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Med/Surg unit with 28 single-occupancy beds, expandable to 36
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5 on nights
- Patient population includes CHF, diabetic, end of life, heart failure, and general medical patients, some requiring telemetry
- EPIC EMR used for charting
- 12-hour night shifts, 7p-730a
- No titratable drips required
- 24/7 charge nurse coverage with patient load depending on staffing and census
- Nurse aides/patient care techs available, generally at a 1:10 ratio
- No ventilator management required; BiPAP/CPAP monitored by respiratory therapy
- 24/7 tele monitor tech support using Space Lab monitors, though nurses must also monitor strips
- Required to work every other weekend (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun nights)
- Required to work every other holiday (holiday eve shifts for nights)
- No call or standby requirements
- Floating required to 4West Med/Surg and occasionally ICU for overflow patients
- Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit with a mix of medical and telemetry patients
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Unit-specific orientation typical 2 shifts, with flexibility up to 3
- Must complete 12 hours of non-billable orientation prior to starting guaranteed hours
- Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen for all panels as part of OSF's drug-free campus policy
