Travel RN - Med/Surg - Cardiology

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiology Nurse Navigator RN requiring a valid CA RN license, 3+ years of experience, and Epic EMR proficiency.

Requirements

• Valid CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 1 year of full-time equivalent specialty experience within the past 2 years required for specialized units
• Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Two supervisor references required, including at least one from a supervisor, director, or manager within the last year from the relevant unit

Responsibilities

• Nurse Navigator role within a Cardiology department at an academic teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Wednesday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Contract runs through April 2027
• Requires use of Epic EMR
• Responsibilities include patient navigation, cardiology assessments, EKG/ECG interpretation, medication administration, and patient education
• Duties may include triage, chart preparation, scheduling, and coordination of referrals and imaging results
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous travelers must have been gone a minimum of 1 year to be eligible to return
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract period is highly preferred
• Manager may choose not to conduct an interview prior to placement
