American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a DC RN license, NRP certification, and at least 2 years of L&D experience.
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required — no pending licensures accepted
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in a US hospital setting
- LDRP experience and labor with postpartum (PP) experience preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
- US Social Security Number required
- Date of birth required for consideration
Responsibilities
- Hospital Labor & Delivery unit setting
- Patient population includes females of childbearing age, pregnant patients from 17 weeks gestation, laboring patients, and triage cases
- Procedures and activities include vaginal and C-section deliveries, pre-op prep, C-sections, external cephalic versions, and triage assessments, as well as unit admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Fetal monitors used on the unit
- Cerner and Fetalink used for documentation
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- On-call requirement of one shift per week
- 9-week contract
- Responsibilities include caring for laboring patients, supporting scheduled procedures, managing triage, and facilitating admissions, discharges, and transfers
- All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
