American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an OK or compact RN license and NRP certification.
Requirements
- Active OK or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- NRP certification (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics) required
- Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start required
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment
- Ability to work in a stressful environment
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Provide critical care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and manage pain including epidurals
- Assist with vaginal or surgical deliveries
- 13-week assignment with a shift schedule of 18:30-07:00
- Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts as needed per department needs
- Holiday coverage required as needed per department needs
- Implement and monitor patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition as appropriate
- Serve as a primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
- Carry out physician and nursing orders
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
- Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
- Educate families on postpartum recovery
- Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate that varies by facility location
