American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring a Massachusetts RN license and 3+ years of L&D experience.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Current NRP certification
- Current EFM certification, renewed every 2 years (NCC, K2, or AWHONN accepted)
- ACLS certification preferred (AHA only)
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Required skill sets: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulate, and Newborn Care
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
Responsibilities
- 25-bed Labor & Delivery unit encompassing L&D, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, 2 ORs, 2 recovery rooms and 2 ANU rooms
- Unit includes 5 LD rooms, 12 PP beds, 2 ORs, 2 recovery rooms and 2 ANU rooms with 4 beds
- Average daily census of 15-25 mothers, babies and laboring patients
- Clinician to patient ratio: L&D 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drip or epidural patients; PP 1:3-4
- Uses EPIC EMR for charting
- Day rotate schedule with rotation to evenings and nights as needed; straight days not offered
- Shifts rotate between 7:00am-7:30pm, 11:00am-11:30pm, and 7:00pm-7:30am
- Every other weekend (EOW) required with one night of call
- 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule
- No floating required
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery settings
- Perform circulating duties and newborn care as part of unit rotation
- Local candidates may be considered if residing within 60 miles of Boston, with rate adjustments applying
