American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a compact or OK RN license and at least 2 years of experience.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact/OK) currently in hand
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- NRP certification (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics) preferred
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, stressful environment
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based Labor and Delivery (LDRPN) unit providing care to expectant mothers and newborns
- Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Up to 6 weekend shifts required based on department needs
- Holiday coverage required as needed per department needs
- Provide direct nursing care including monitoring maternal and fetal vital signs, pain management, and assisting with vaginal or surgical deliveries
- Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
- Implement and monitor patient care plans while communicating changes in patient condition
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
- Educate families on postpartum recovery
- Follow Standard Precautions using appropriate personal protective equipment
- Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate for local candidates
- First-time travelers may be considered
