American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring NRP certification and labor management experience.
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, NRP, and Intermittent EFM certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Labor management experience required
- Experience circulating in L&D OR preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
- Labor and Delivery unit with 14 labor beds, 2 OR suites, 6 recovery bays, and 8 antepartum beds
- Unit staffed with 40 total employees including charge nurses, RNs, and surgical techs per shift
- Patient ratios of 1:2 in labor and 1:4 in antepartum
- Uses GE electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and CPN equipment
- EMR systems include Meditech and Centricity Perinatal
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend requirement
- Floating required to Antepartum and Postpartum units (OB assignments only)
- 6-week assignment length
- Perform care for vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, bilateral tubal ligations, and D&C procedures
- Manage uterine tamponade devices and titrate magnesium and Pitocin drips
- Ideal candidates are positive, compassionate, and flexible
- Scrub attire required in royal blue
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates will not be considered
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
