American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a LDRP position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and ND or compact RN licensure.
Requirements
- Active ND state or compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required and must be active, pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Experience troubleshooting neonatal respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPap, and high flow required
- Must be clean-shaven or able to pass a respirator fit test, as facial hair may disqualify candidates from required fit testing
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
- Copy of driver\'s license required for consideration
Responsibilities
- Work in the LDRP unit of a rural acute care hospital
- Unit includes 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds
- Patient population includes laboring moms >35 weeks and mom/baby couplets
- Follows AWHONN staffing ratios of 1:1-2 for labor and 1:2-3 for postpartum
- RNs required to titrate drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, and Zofran for labor patients, and Toradol and Percocet for postpartum patients
- Uses MEDITECH EMR and OB Trace Vue for EFM monitoring
- Nights shift, 3x12-hour shifts with block scheduling (7-7)
- Every third weekend required
- Holiday coverage required depending on availability
- Float requirement to MSP/ED, primarily for 1:1 patient sitting
- Charge nurse present each shift and does not take a patient assignment
- No guaranteed hours beyond scheduled shifts
- Circulate for cesarean section deliveries while surgery team manages the procedure
- Facility is a rural hospital located more than 1 hour from the nearest NICU with limited services
- Success in this unit favors nurses with strong teamwork, independence, and communication skills
- Scrubs provided
- Unit-specific orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the past year
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
- Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
