American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Requirements
- Active RN license (SC or Compact)
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA only) and NRP (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital environment
- Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
- 13-week assignment
- Scheduled 3 12-hour shifts per week plus 4 12-hour call shifts within a 6-week period
- Float to similar units as needed
- Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data
- Provide age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice
- Foster an environment of caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors
- Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff
- Contribute to department performance through precepting and mentoring novice employees
- Participate in hospital-system initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices
- Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and educational offerings
