American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring prior IR and ICU experience along with WA or compact RN licensure.
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of IR nursing experience required, 3-5 years preferred
- ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias preferred
- Experience monitoring procedural sedation and medications
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
Responsibilities
- Interventional Radiology unit in a short term acute care hospital setting
- Performs CT guided biopsies, fistulograms, GJ-tube placements, lower extremity angiograms, nuclear med/stress tests, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and Y90 procedures
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Weekend coverage varies based on staffing needs, approximately every 3-4 weekends
- On-call responsibilities include one weeknight per week every other week ) and one weekend call shift every 4-6 weeks (Friday 1700 to Monday 0700)
- Uses Epic EMR
- May be required to float between sister facilities
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for a travel contract
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- RTO requests should be minimized, ideally kept under 7 days
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
