American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T unit, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active IL RN license.
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration, no pending licenses or EMSA accepted
- BSN required
- 2 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA only, HeartCode not accepted), Chemotherapy Certification
- OCN certification preferred
- Required skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, emergency medication administration, titration of cardiac drips, assisting with BiPAP/CPAP management, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, interpretation of ABGs, suctioning (ETT, NT), ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE use, and phlebotomy
- Preferred skills: IV insulin protocols, accessing ports, starting IVs, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and surgical wound care with drains/wound vac
- Stem cell transplant experience a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Work in the ICU on a Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patient unit
- Unit has 15 rooms/beds with an average daily census of approximately 7
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
- Every third weekend required
- Float to Med/Surg required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Pyxis medication system and EPIC for documentation
- SBAR communication method used
- Provide direct patient care to Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
- 24-hour orientation provided on the unit
- Pewter-colored scrubs required (not provided)
- Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
- No RTO permitted for 12/24-12/25 or 12/31-1/01
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at local rate
- Former employees of the facility will not be considered for this position
