American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LTAC ICU position requiring ACLS, BLS, and a compact or LA RN license in hand.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand required upon consideration
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- LTAC experience preferred but not required
- Experience with critical care medications including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulation therapy, vasopressors, and insulin drip titration
- Respiratory care skills including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, chest tube care, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV management
- Renal care skills including AV-shunt/fistula care and continuous bladder irrigation
- Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Neurological assessment skills including stroke scale assessment and CVA/TBI care
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
Responsibilities
- LTAC ICU unit setting
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- Patient ratio of 1:5/6
- Performs specialized procedures including TPN administration, wound care, drain management, foley catheter care, and narcotic administration
- Epic EMR experience required
- Block scheduling considered
- No call-in requirements
- Provides comprehensive ICU-level care for LTAC patients requiring complex medical management
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team by unit manager requiring facility presence until an event passes
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Orientation held 5 days a week
- Two Manager/Supervisor references (not Charge RN) required to obtain clearance to start, though not required at time of consideration
- Updated NURSYS report (within 4 weeks of submission) required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescindment
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
