Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring rotating day and night shifts and one year of nursing experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI-B
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited school of nursing
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Experience with point of care testing and care of patients with complex problems

Responsibilities

• Work in a 16-bed adult ICU managing critical illness, ventilated patients, and post-operative cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2 with average length of stay of 3-7 days
• Rotating day and night shift schedule on a 6-week cycle (typically 3 weeks days, 3 weeks nights)
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• May be scheduled on holidays if there is a need
• Standby call required once per pay period
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in coordination with the Nurse Manager/Director
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and multidisciplinary care coordination
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and adjust patient care plans
