American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN with 2+ years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency for a Level III Trauma teaching hospital.
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass Advanced EKG exam prior to start
- No background or license actions within the past 12 months
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and management of ventilated patients
- Experience with cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition required
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and continuous IV sedation/paralytics required
Responsibilities
- ICU setting within a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:2-3
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Requires every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within the hospital or affiliated campuses based on staffing needs
- Uses Epic EMR
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with one major holiday request allowed
- Extension policy allows one extension on day shift or two on night shift, followed by a required 6-month break before reapplying
- First-time travelers considered at manager's discretion based on experience level
