American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an outpatient Endocrinology position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and a CA RN license in hand.
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration (no pending license, EMSA not accepted)
- BSN required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in endocrinology nursing required
- Current BLS certification required
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- OCN certification preferred
- Experience with height/weight assessments, medication reconciliation, vital signs, and pain assessment required
- Experience with blood glucose monitoring, glucometer use, and urine dipstick/urinalysis required
- Experience with subcutaneous medication administration required
- Experience with patient health questionnaires, history, and allergy documentation required
- Experience with authorization forms, chart preparation, disability forms, and supply ordering required
- Experience with pharmacy calls, patient refill requests, and referrals required
- Experience with telephone triage and follow-up calls required
- Experience with biohazard waste disposal and universal precautions required
- Experience reviewing imaging results and processing medication refills required
- Intradermal, intramuscular, and IV infusion experience preferred
- Insurance verification, appointment scheduling, contact tracing, and venipuncture experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Outpatient endocrine clinic with 5 exam rooms and a daily census of approximately 30 patients
- Onsite pharmacy available
- Patient population includes those with diabetes and thyroid disease
- Performs thyroid biopsies, 24-hour urine collections, and medication teaching
- Utilizes EPIC for documentation and SBAR for clinical communication
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:30am to 5:00pm
- Responsibilities include patient teaching, medication management, and coordination of endocrine care services
- Caribbean blue scrubs required and not provided by the facility
- Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
- First-time travelers not accepted for this role
- Previous employees of the facility will not be considered
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 75-mile radius
- No restrictive RTO rules
