American Traveler is seeking a California-licensed RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and EPIC proficiency.
Requirements
- Active CA RN license
- BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and MAB certifications (ENPC accepted in place of PALS)
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Experience managing diverse ED presentations including pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, respiratory conditions, trauma, and cardiac dysrhythmias
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and splinting
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year
Responsibilities
- 34-bed Emergency Department treating patients of all ages and diagnoses
- Basic ED level with stroke and STEMI receiving certification, no trauma designation
- 4:1 patient ratio
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
- Night shift, 3x12 hours,
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on‑call requirements
- Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and care transitions
- Delivers holistic, individualized care across an assigned ED area
- Returning employees must have a 1‑year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- First‑time travelers not accepted for this role
