American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with EPIC experience and a Florida or compact license for a hospital emergency department position.
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma presentations
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience managing emergency medications including IV vasopressors
- Two professional references from a Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director within the past year required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required 10/31-3/31 (medical/religious exemptions only)
Responsibilities
- Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- Evening shift, 1p-1a variable, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule cycle, or every other weekend, based on unit needs
- Float requirement as needed, including to sister facility locations
- Holiday and hurricane coverage requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC for documentation
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
- Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
- Scrubs must be a solid color with matching tops and bottoms, no logos or prints (self-provided or facility-provided)
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Former employees or contracted staff must have a separation period of at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers with no radius restriction
- Travel pairs are permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
- Finalized RTO requests must be submitted upfront and are reviewed during the interview process, as additional requests cannot be accommodated afterward
