American Traveler is hiring an RN for a combined ED/Med-Surg role at a Critical Access Hospital, requiring TNCC certification and 2+ years of ER/Med-Surg or CAH experience.
Requirements
- Active SD or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Med-Surg and ER or Critical Access Hospital setting
- EPIC charting experience required, with site-specific orientation provided during the first week of assignment
- BSN not required
Responsibilities
- Dual responsibility covering both the Emergency Department and Med-Surg unit
- Critical Access Hospital licensed for 11 beds
- Typical staffing ratio of 1 nurse to 3-5 patients
- EPIC EMR used for charting
- Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required
- Straight nights or straight weekend schedule options may be considered
- Day shifts run and night shifts run
- On-call required for 5 shifts per 6-week schedule in addition to scheduled hours
- Must be able to respond to the facility within 40 minutes when called in
- On-call coverage may be needed for increased patient acuity, trauma situations, patient transfers, or staffing shortages
- ED response duties are shared among all staff to maintain comfort and competency in the ED setting
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may be considered for local placement
- Previous employees of the health system must disclose prior employment and have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
