Travel RN - Cardiovascular ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring prior CVICU experience and NextStage CVVH machine proficiency at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU specialty required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
• Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory skills required including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Day or night shift options available, both 3x12-hour shifts or )
• Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Provide critical care nursing to post-cardiac surgery and cardiovascular intervention patients
• Care for patients across a range of complex procedures including CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and IABP/Impella/VAD support as applicable
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and complex hemodynamic monitoring needs
• Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked among the nation's leading medical centers
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to travel experience requirement
