Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a day-shift adult critical care position requiring CA RRT licensure and ventilator management experience.
Details
- Provides respiratory care across ER, RRT, Code Blue, medical/surgical floors, and ICU settings for adult patients
- Adult critical care and emergency department work settings
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Epic charting system experience required
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- One weekend required per month
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Adult RRT required unless otherwise noted
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- PALS and NRP certification required
- CA State RRT Licensure required if applicable
- NBRC certification preferred
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
- Experience with arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
- Experience with medication delivery systems including MDI, nebulizers, and aerosol setups
Additional Information
- Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities
- Assess, treat, and evaluate patients while collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to implement care plans
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and support groups to build trust and cooperation
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
- 50-mile radius rule applies
- Candidates must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
