Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift ICU position requiring 18 months of recent ICU experience and NBRC/RRT certification.
Details
- Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30
- Every other weekend work required
- Floating required between affiliate hospitals within the health system
- Cerner charting system preferred
- Provides care in adult critical care and pediatric settings
Requirements
- Active NBRC (RRT) certification
- IN state license or Compact license required, if applicable
- ACLS and BLS certification required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience with 18 months of recent ICU experience
- Education must be accredited through CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include ventilator management, arterial blood gas draws and interpretation, airway management, intubation/extubation assistance, and oxygen therapy
- Performs medication delivery via nebulizer and aerosol systems including Albuterol, Atrovent, and Xopenex
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Former perm or PRN employees of the health system must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
- Local candidates residing in-state are considered local, though local candidates are not accepted for ICU positions
- All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
