Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital, requiring critical care experience and advanced ventilator management skills for a night shift assignment.
Details
- Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital setting with 400+ beds
- Work in adult critical care units and the Emergency Department
- Patient background includes trauma, neuro, medical, cardiac, and surgical ICUs
- 12-hour night shift schedule with every other weekend required
- 2 call shifts required along with a holiday commitment
- On-call availability required as necessary
- Uses Hamilton G5, C6, T1, MR1, Philips EV300, and INO ventilators
- EPIC EMR used
Requirements
- Respiratory Therapist License required if applicable
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Critical care, Level 1 trauma, and teaching hospital experience required
- Proficient in advanced ventilator management including esophageal balloons, PV loop interpretations, driving pressure assessment, and best PEEP maneuvers
- MA license required in hand
- Flu vaccine documentation required during flu season
Additional Information
- Provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill adult patients across multiple ICU specialties
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- Pass/Fail Tele/ECG and Medication testing required for certain campus locations
- COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
- Previous employees or travelers with Beth Israel Lahey Health must have a 6-month break before returning
- All RTO requests must be presented at time of consideration
- First-time travelers not specified as accepted or excluded
