Travel Respiratory Therapist - PICU RT

American Traveler is seeking a PICU Respiratory Therapist for a night shift assignment at a children's hospital, requiring RRT certification and PICU or NICU experience.
Job Details
• Provides respiratory care across NICU, PICU, emergency department, and pediatric/adult acute and intermediate care units,
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts,
• No call requirements,
• EPIC charting system experience preferred,
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs,
Job Requirements
• Current RRT certification required,
• BLS certification required (AHA Traditional accepted; RQI not accepted),
• NRP, PALS, and state license preferred,
• State license required if applicable, pending license acceptable with plan to obtain upon offer,
• Minimum 2 years of experience required,
• PICU or NICU experience required,
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred,
• Experience with ventilator management, airway management, and neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillator, ECMO),
• Skilled in medication delivery systems and administration for respiratory therapies,
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and RSV,
• Ability to perform diagnostic procedures including arterial blood sampling and bedside spirometry,
• Copies of certifications and proof of COVID vaccination required for consideration (no exemptions),
Additional Information
• Provides therapeutic interventions including airway management, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation,
• Performs diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling, bedside spirometry, and point-of-care testing,
• Delivers age-specific, family-centered care in accordance with hospital guidelines,
• Assists and trains other respiratory therapists, students, and healthcare team members,
• Documents and charges for all services provided per hospital policy,
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position,
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction,
• Returning staff must have a 6+ month gap since their last assignment to be eligible,
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and not exceed two weeks,
• Minimum 13-week contract length
