Responsibilities
- Med/Surge Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
- Responsibilities include consulting and coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures and manage patient medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, initiate corrective actions for adverse symptoms.
- Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
- Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform dressing changes, catheter insertions, start IVs, and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocols.
- Participate in discharge planning and utilize time management skills.
- Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner.
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Must have 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting.
- Must have Wyoming RN or multi-state RN license.
- Candidates may be responsible for taking care of pediatric/adolescent patients occasionally (no dedicated pediatric unit).
- Candidates might need to float between Lander and Riverton campuses depending on facility census.

- Contract length is 13 weeks.
